VANTAGE POINT

The run time is 4 minutes and 51 seconds. It was sent to me by a saint in another part of the country and it addresses one of the enemies most effective tactics.  He can’ t pluck us out of the Fathers hand, therefore, he seeks to distract us with a myriad of time bandits. Here’s the link:

Satans plan (posted by Damien Roberts)

It’s ironic that, due to the myriad of things which must be accomplished on a continual basis, I wrote the bulk of this post in the overnight hours. (I’m finishing it up in the late morning of March 7) The past several days have been a time of non-stop running and, as often seems to be the case, a choice has to be made between writing and sleep. I guess that, if Job can esteem the words of his mouth more than his necessary food, than I can esteem blogging more than my necessary slumber.

Job 23:12 “Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necesary food.”

One more link is needed before moving on. The following is a three hour broadcast featuring Steve Quayle, entitled:

Do you want the praise of men or the power of God?

This past week has presented much cogitation on how quickly we become sidetracked and lose perspective. Two ongoing examples come to mind concerning this issue. One involves a professing saint at my workplace. He is zealous for the Lord and can quote scripture from dawn till dusk. When discussing the comming persecution against the saints, he’ll boldly say “Bring it on. Send me to the FEMA camps! I’m ready to love not my life unto the death!” And yet, despite this boasting, he becomes profoundly bothered by even the most insignificant goings on at the plant. He resorts to complaining and finger-pointing over the slightest perceived injustice and isn’t bothered by the perception that this creates. The lack of an eternal perspective often causes him to gnat-strain over some very insignificant issues; thereby weakening his testimony. This is a trap that we can easily fall into.

Romans 8:6 “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritully minded is life and peace.”

The second involves a deep captive whom I’ve never met, but has become a prayer project. The man occupies a significant position of power and has become involved in some serious legal wrangling which could bring about an end to his situation. An acquaintance who is familiar with this developing story has reported that his household is in chaos and that he is at the point of losing his mind. I have been prompted to begin petitioning on behalf of this captive who is in desperate need of an encounter with Jesus. Initially, it felt as though I was standing at the base of a large “very dark mountain” filled with evil, A couple of days later, however, a different image emerged. I no longer saw a huge mountain. Now it took on the form of a large empty room. (like an airplane hanger, only “much larger”) In the middle of this room, curled up on the floor, was a child. He was confused, terrified and all alone in the world.

Both of these examples reveal the need for us to stand back, and see the bigger picture of a given situation. A detailed “cause and effect” analysis of a situation in “real-time” will always miss important pieces of the picture. An assessment based solely upon our intellect, combined with the imput from our physical senses can never prepare us to properly respond to a spiritual situation. We may be able to react in a lifeless “form of godliness ” manner, however,  a “religious approach” will not bring deliverance. With eternal souls hanging in the balance, this is a recipe for scattering and disaster. And yet, despite the fact that eternities are being forged and that, as ambassadors , we play an intregal part, the church by and large, has elected to gravitate toward a lifeless form of godliness. A well-choreographed stage show with no surprises, no conviction, and feel-good messages that can be wrapped up in time for everyone to head to their favorite restaurant.

The saint who alerted me to the above link also once relayed to me a question which she had heard proposed by another. It was words to the effect of “How many people are being sent to hell because of your actions?” We should ask this of ourselves daily.

Without a doubt, we must stay close to the Lord and be continuous in prayer, if we’re to properly navigate the ever changing landscape before us. It’s amazing how a few moments with Jesus can completely reconfigure our perception of a given situation. It happens every time without fail. When we enter into the throne room through prayer, abide in the presence of the Almighty, and then bring up the situation of perplexing, the entire outlook changes. What once may have been troubling us beyond measure now seems as nothing. The Lord grants insight concerning the bigger picture and our focus is transferred from the temporal to the eternal. The other players in the battle, are no longer viewed as adversaries, but eternal beings, created in the image of God, Once this truth makes it into our heart, we’ll find a sincere compassion for even the most contrary of folks. When we walk in the Spirit and maintain an eternal perspective, we can properly respond to the myriad of needs in our ambience.

Romans 5:5 “And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”

If a single admonition can be presented here, it’s to forsake the temporal and get close to Jesus. Striving to be in a position where we can be strong and do exploits; even as the world continues on the path laid out in scripture. As for now, I need to be going as a plethura of tasks await my attending. Please visit the above links. The interview with Steve Quayle is three hours in length so one may want to set aside a time of minimal interruption. It will be time well spent. One may also want to visit psalm 73 in relation to gaining an eternal perspective. Blessings always in Jesus name.

Matthew 5:44-45 “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”

AN EVIDENT TOKEN of PERDITION

This post must begin with some important links. The first is to a blog site whose author continuously presents information that’s relevant to the hour in a way that’s well thought out and balanced. (By balanced, I mean that she doesn’t join up with bandwagons or jump to conclusions.  She thoroughly searches out a matter.) The site is called Don’t be Fooled 666 and I would highly recommend routine visits by all who understand the times and are determined to maintain the testimony of Jesus. Not only are the posts insightful, it’s encouraging to stay in touch with likeminded saints. I was alerted to the following three links, located on dontbefooled666s site by a mutual acquaintance. They feature a series of detailed conversations, between GeorgeAnn Hughes  and Augusto Perez  in February of 2009 and are as follows:

THE END GAME (part 1)

THE END GAME (part 2)

THE END GAME (part 3)

In these broadcasts, Augusto details the perilosity facing our generation; particularly in relation to the emergence of the man of sin, the incredible persecution that will catch many professors off guard, and the widespread appeal concerning the perceived advantages of receiving a mark. Augusto goes into great detail about something that has been on my heart for a long time; in fact, on the old blog, it was referred to in a number of posts. The deception is going to be so complete, that anyone not in compliance will appear to be a backwards and hateful person worthy of being turned over to the earth missionaries. (These are the people whose job is will be to round up and eliminate all who refuse to “wonder after the beast.” Try as we may to grasp the “whole” of what’s about to be made manifest, such understanding will not possible until it’s playing out in real time. As such we must stay close to Jesus, keep our hearts with all diligence, and understand the conclusion of all these things.

Before proceeding farther, it’s needful to re-introduce a January 14, 2011 TruNews broadcast wherein a coming collapse of the euro, followed quickly by a total collapse of the dollar is discussed. This orchestrated event will be the catalyst that ushers in the global system This thing is in the final stages of completion. Here’s the link: TruNews broadcast, Jan 14, 2011 Augusto Perez is one of three featured guests in this broadcast, along with Nathan Leal and an individual identified as “PS.” PS is a guy who, because of his position, is in continuous contact with very powerful people from the economic and policy formulating realms. It’s imperative to undeerstand that everything familiar is being swept away and that sinister designs are being implemented. What does this mean for the saints?

Luke 21:12-13 “But before all these things, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my names sake.
And it shall turn  to you for a testimony.

Persecution is coming to every corner of the globe; against those who maintain the testimony of Jesus while every shred of physical evidence seems to back up the claims made by the son of perdition. It will take place in venues that boast of demorcacy, it will tear apart families, and it will divide fellowships as the unbelieving (regardless of  what they profess verbally) will actively assault those who remain steadfast. It will separate the wheat from the tares, the wise from the wicked, and will cause all to reveal their true allegance. As we maintain our testimony, we can expect resistance to come from the most unsuspecting of persons; even professing saints. There will be denials, betrayals, (see something-say something) and those who will cleave to us with flatteries. This persecution will affect every saint in every venue.

In the link “End Game part 3, Augusto explains that, once the man of sin makes his official debut, the persecution against the true remnant will ramp up almost instantly. Suddenly everything that we believe will seem “old fashioned and silly” by the deceived ones. It will be a time of incredible heartache. Even now, it’s all but unbearable to see folks whom we love dearly live out their days with no concern for their eternal soul. The same is true concerning those who claim to be born of the Spirit, but consistantly  neglect to grow roots downward and bear fruit upwards. Subsequently, as Steve quayle has often observed, “faith will always be persecuted by unbelief.” Faith reminds one who isn’t where they should be that “they’re not where they should be” and most don’t like to have their perceptions shattered. They would rather rehearse their chosen worldview and “shoot the messenger” rather than sincerely seek out the truth of the issue.

I recently heard a report about a church, wherein a recent sermon revolved around the need for us to be prepared for martyrdom. In all honesty, I do not believe that I have ever heard someone preach on this, and yet, we are warned in scripture that we must be prepared to love not our lives unto the death. During his earthly ministry, Jesus warned us plainly that if we seek to save our lives in this world, we will lose them. He also told us that we must forsake all to follow him, and that if they persecuted him they would certainly persecute us. We are reminded that “we are counted as sheep for the slaughter, (Psalm 44:22 and Romans 8:36) and yet, despite the seriouosness of this, it’s rarely given the time of day in most churches. Most of us in the complacent west simply don’t believe that it’s possible and so we go on dwelling carelessly. The warning cries from those who see what’s manifesting go unheeded and many are setting themselves up for a calamity.

This is not a fun topic and the observations presented here are sobering, however, we are in need of soberness.  To gain much needed clarity from on high, and subsequently, position ourselves so that we are not blindsided by things that many consider “just to crazy to ever manifest.” If we have a clear picture, we can prepare accordingly. Please listen to End Game (parts 1, 2, and 3)  with GeorgeAnn Hughes and Augusto Perez. Please listen to the TruNews broadcast from Jan 14, 2011. Perilous times are upon us as the beast syetem is entering the final stages of completion. The time will come when we will have to completely detach from the infrastructure. But if we love not our lives in this world; if our affectioons are truly upon Jesus and the everlasting age to come, letting go of the temporal will be a small thing.

II Corinthians 5:7-8 “(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.”

I John 3:3 “And every man that hath this hope purifieth himself, even as he is pure.”

Blessings always in Jesus name.

Philippians 1:28-30 “And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.
For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;
Having the same conflict which ye sa in me, and now hear to be in me.”

seeking the stillness…

Posted in Christianity, Discernment, Eternity, Gods Word, Jesus Christ, religion, Salvation, Spiritual warfare on February 12, 2011 by timbob

Psalm 63:1 “O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land where no water is.”

Luke 6:12 “And it came to pass in those days, that he (Jesus) went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God”

It’s something that many of us struggle with. Finding space for undistracted prayer when our lives are filled with seemingly every form of obligation under the sun. Without a doubt, we can (and certainly should) pray without ceasing. We can fellowship with the Lord while working, running erands, performing menial tasks around the house, waiting in the DMV lobby, and what have you. (for me, driving is a great time for prayer) Sadly, however, it’s all too easy to consider this “distracted prayer,” weaved into the flow of other tasks and commitments, to be sufficient. We need (absolutely need) time where we can shut out the myriad of voices from the atmosphere, turn off all of our gadgets, cast down all pestering imaginations, and focus entirely upon the Lord Jesus. To step out of the flow, find a secluded space, and spend quality time in the presence of the Lord.

Without a doubt, this is easier said than done. It sounds great, and without a doubt, such moments are like none other. There is a peace and a sweetness in the presence of the Lord that’s like nothing else in the world. A peace that’s available to everyone who is born of the Spirit. And each time we enter into such moments, the questions arise; “why oh why do I not pursue such moments with greater diligence? Why do I allow distractions to consume so much time?” While part of the answer is a hectic lifestyle where obligations can pop up with little warning, a primary reason is that we fail to make it a priority. We become overwhelmed by the relentless assaults of the time bandits and, subsequently, we settle for a “divided fellowship,” between the Lord and the goings on in this world.  Over time, this will obscure our discernment, cause drifting, and ultimately hinder our testimony.

At the conclusion of any given day, we will have either drawn closer to Jesus or we will have drifted a little farther away. The alterations are usually all but invisible, however, their fruit is accumulative.

Proverbs 4:23 “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

John 15:4 “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

The stillness. Those illusive moments when the competitors for our attention have been subdued and we are in the presence of the Lord Jesus. Psalm 63″6 refers to these moments with “When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.” The fellowship is delicious and our adoration for the Savior unfeinged. A place where we can hear the gentle promptings of the Holy Spirit. You know; the ones that, in hindsight, we recognize were present before, however, we were just too busy to acknowledge them. It seems that the world is continuously “in our face” so to speak. It presses in and attempts to frame us into a pattern of perpetual reacting to circumstances and/or following endless storylines, without taking time to seek councel from on high. It will always seek to partner with our imagination. Like a deep undercover agent, a runaway imagination can consume a pristine season of prayer with an endless train of idle thoughts, vain desires, and “whatever it takes” to get our mind off the Lord Jesus. (II Corinthians 10:4-6 frames it perfectly)

The enemys agenda is seriously threatened when we enter into the presence of the Lord and begin to gain clarity. When our heart is made right and we see the bigger picture, we become a dangerous adversary. (Though it’s not really us, but rather Christ who is in us) Not only are the enemies attempts to derail us thwarted, as we begin to petition on behalf of the captives strongholds in the lives of others begin to crumble. I’ve heard so many testimonies of folks whose names are written in the book of life because of a relentless prayer warrior. (David Meyer is one of them) There was a man in my former church who was saved because a friend had prayed faithfully for him over the course of thirty years. And I still remember praying for CR, but all the while serious doubts were parading around in my head. Today CR is saved and is an incredible testimony for Jesus.

One more thought before closing this up. A lot of times, we subconsciously feel as though we’re not actually doing anything unless were physically busy. An area where I struggle with this is when going into the streets. Far too often, these outings are not preceeded by enough preperatory prayer. I see a window of opportunity, fly to the city and hit the streets; knowing that in a few hours I’ll have to report to work. This can be dangerous. I don’t know who I’m going to meet or what their circumstances are. We look at the need, see the masses of souls who are not ready to stand before Jesus, and say “I gotta get out there NOW!” At home I look at the endless amount of chores and arrive at the conclusion that “although I need to be praying, these dishes need to be washed, this laundry needs to be put away, the dogs need baths, the refrigerator needs to be cleaned out, matts room is a mess…..I’ll just pray while I busy myself with all of these trivialities.”

It’s such an easy trap to fall into. I wonder what would happen if I came home after work and, when Mrs timbob asked me why the house was a mess, I responded with “I needed to spend the whole day in prayer because a saint on the east coast is battling globalists.”  To me, a battle of that magnitude is demanding of uninterrupted prayer time, however, if I presented it like that to Mrs timbob, she would most likely not be understanding. (At least I don’t think she would be….I’ll have to find out.) It can be a delicate balance between physical obligation and necessary prayer time void of competitions. However, the urgency of this demands that we strive to spend every available moment with the Lord. (Even while performing other tasks.)

Well, I need to be going, however, one more observation is needed. It involves last Sundays superbowl and is a testimony to how far the Lord has brought me. I used to “never miss a game” in my younger years. Now I’m reduced to a single game per year, and, after last Sunday, that single game is going to drop off. I spent four hours with others; watching something that, in earlier times, would have been fun. Afterwards, I felt completely drained spiritually. I didn’t shout or jump up and down; I just sat their, watching and eating nachos. When it was concluded, I was almost sick from the experience. I went to the kitchen and a pondering was dropped into my spirit. “Suppose that four hours had been spent before the Lord Jesus in prayer. How would I be feeling now?” Of course we know the answer to this, and now, the final holdout of what had once been a major distraction in my life has been crushed.

And if I shared this with any of the brethren here, I would receive a consensus response of “Oh there’s nothing wrong with a football game.” (except for CR. He agreed with me on this) Our choices will always line up with what is residing in our heart.”

Romans 8:6 “For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”

Well I really have to be going. Blessings always in Jesus name.

THE NOT SO HAPPY FEMA CAMPERS

Posted in Christianity, Discernment, End Times, Gods Word, Jesus Christ, religion, Salvation, Spiritual warfare, Tribulation Saints on February 8, 2011 by timbob

I was surprised to discover that these are still available on You Tube. This is a series that was hosted by Jesse Ventura, and after a single airing, was pulled from the airwaves. To one who has been adhering to the dominant worldview, this will sound so far-fetched that it cannot possibly be true. And yet the documentation is undeniable. There is also a historical event that bears witness that such a thing is possible; even in this “land of the free and home of the brave.” Below are four presentations. The first three feature the episode of Jesse Venturas Conspiriacy theory broadcast which has been pulled. The last one features a visit to a time in our nations past when innocents were rounded up and placed into camps. “IT HAS HAPPENED BEFORE”

One frightening senario is that, in the event of a national emergency (feigned or authentic) undiscerning folks will willingly flow into these camps in search of safety. It’s time for us to be watching and praying. Sunday morning, our pastor preached from II Corinthians chapter four and, as such, I’ll leave off with this passage:

II Corinthians 4:17-18 “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh in us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temproal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”

Blessings always in Jesus name.

DESIRE of the AMBASSADOR

Posted in Christianity, Discernment, Gods Word, Jesus Christ, religion, Salvation, Spiritual warfare on January 30, 2011 by timbob

John 15:4-5 “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”

II Corinthians 4:3-4 “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them that believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is thge image of God, should shine unto them.”

I Timothy 4:12 “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”

I believe that the following story was told by Michael Boldea, however, I’m not certain. He was in a rural Romanian village and went to visit an older man who resided there. The first few moments were of a casual nature; exchanges of greetings and a relaying of statistical information, (do your kids live close by, etc.) as Michael settled in for the visit. Within a few minutes, however, tears began to form in Michaels eyes. There was an ever so sweet presence of the Lord in the house and Michael became overwhelmed by it. Come to find out, this man had a very interesting routine. He awakened every morning, and after a simple breakfast, proceeded to spend the entire day in prayer. The older man had such a close relationship with the Lord Jesus that it could not be contained; even in a casual setting where focus was upon becoming acquainted with a visitor.

It was well over five years ago when I first read this, and it has become a routine pondering. To be so close to the Lord that the very atmosphere surrounding us will be affected. It touches on an issue that weighs on the heart of everyone who is born of the Spirit as we seek to be a city set upon a hill. We are surrounded by souls that are curently headed for an eternity apart from God.  Some of them are close friends and relatives whom we love dearly. Many are anonymous souls that we pass by as we perform our obligations. Priceless eternal ones, whose sins were paid for by the blood of Jesus, inhabit our ambience. For the most part, they are unconcerned about their sinful condition or the wrath to come.  They place full confidence in the customized set of falsehoods that the enemy has handed them as they rummage through endless heaps of wood, hay, and stubble in search of fulfilment. All the while, the clock is ticking, as their moment of departing this temporal realm draws continuously closer.

The task before us; to reach out to the perishing with the words of life, is almost overwhelming. In fact, it’s above our natural ability to properly engage in “by our wits” so to speak. Regardless of our understanding of scripture; regardless of how much coaching we have received on how to be effective at reaching the lost, if we rely upon mechanics, we’ll be greatly hindered. It goes without saying that the word of God never returns void and that the apostle Paul rejoiced when Christ was preached even when ones motives were suspect. (Philippians 1:15-18.) However, it doesn’t take much to cause scattering. Our testimony can be seriously “damaged in a moment” by an improper attitude, a lifestyle of habitual sin, speaking presumptuously, pride, a lack of sincere affection, hypocricy, a dependance upon cliches, gimmic-ology, allowing circumstances to have mastery over us, placing emphasis on the desires of self, or any number of campaigns that stem from the old nature.

The entire second and third chapters of James come to mind. Passages such as:

James 3:16-17 “For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocricy.”

The story about the older man in Romania relays a truth that we are all aware of, but probably don’t practice as much as we should. While few of us have time available where we can spend the entire day before the Lord in undistracted prayer, we must strive to be as close to Jesus as possible. If we are abiding in the truth and walking in the Spirit, the fruit will be manifest to those around us. When opportunity arises to share the gospel, our words will be backed up by power. The peace of God will be present in our lives, regardless of circumstances and the observers will know that our God is real. When persecution arises for the cause of Christ, (it’s coming to every corner of the globe; Matthew 24:9-10.) they will see that our affections are truly on things above and that “though he slay me, yet will I trust in him.” For the sake of those outside the household of faith, (as well as our own well-being) it’s imperative that every aspect of our lives is in agreement with our profession.

We may not see tears well up in the eyes of anyone who comes around, however, they should be able to tell that something is different about us. This is how it was for the people who played a large role in my conversion. When I met Dennis and MaryAnn in the summer of 1983, (their neice had lived next door to us for years and was now living with Dennis and maryAnn) I knew something was different. Although they never “preached” to me, they were always “authentically friendly” and I liked to visit with them.  Over the course of that summer, I began to see my own sinful condition and desired to have what Dennis and maryAnn had. In September of 1983, I met the Lord Jesus and my life was forever altered. Sometimes we want to force things. We see the lateness of the hour, with so many who are not ready for eternity, and we want to shake them violently to awaken them. But we know that only the Holy Spirit can open blinded eyes. II Timothy 2:24-26 states it perfectly.

Well I have to go for now. I was up most of the night with Matthew and we didn’t make it to church this morning. Actually, the past week has been one of much chaos, wherein on Tuesday, Matthew went on a rampage at school. He put two assistants in the hospital. (For any who are not aware of my personal life, Matthew is our older son. He’s 15 years old and has autism. He is unfathomably strong and can be violent at times) He’s been home since Tuesday and will remain here until they can figure out how to facillitate his needs without injury to staff or other students. And yet, the peace of God surpasses all chaos and will abide in the midst of the most trying of circumstances. Last week was crazy, but this week I’ll try to make the rounds in the blogosphere. I really appreciate all who take time to share their observations in this venue.

Blessings always in Jesus name.

Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

Acts 4:13 “Now when they saw the boldness of peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.”

WE’LL STAY FOREVER THAT WAY

Posted in Christianity, Discernment, End Times, Gods Word, Jesus Christ, religion, Salvation, Spiritual warfare, Tribulation Saints, Uncategorized with tags on January 23, 2011 by timbob

I Peter 1:8-9 “Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory.
Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls

I John 3:2-3 “Beloved, now we are the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
And every man that hath this hope purifieth himself, even as he is pure.”

It seems imperative to begin with a focusing on the conclusion of our faith before delving into what lies immediately ahead. To keep our affections on things above and the age to come; lest we be overwhelmed by what’s soon to befall this nation and this world. A few hours ago, I listened to Benjamin Baruch. While he discussed much that I’ve heard previously, tonight something resonated with me on a much deeper level. To be honest, I should probably spend the night in prayer instead of blogging. I really believe that the meltdown is coming this summer. Of course I could be wrong on this. There could be a “stay” for a bit longer as the Lord is in ultimate control of timings. Nonethtless, I know that we have reached the point where judgment is being rendered; in the house of God and upon the nations.

Benjamin said a number of things that hit me. The issue of abortion came up during the conversation as the host, Shannon Davis, mentioned the sixty million unborn children that have been murdered in this nation. Benjamin quickly added “it won’t reach seventy million.” Of all the things that we have done to provoke the Lord to anger, this single issue has to be the most grievous. The Lord knows exactly how many souls have been cut short in this manner. He knows their names, he knows the plan that he had for each of their lives, and his bookkeeping is flawless. Abortion is the equivelant of the ancients causing their children to pass through the fire.  The land is sick through and through; with the imaginations of mens hearts growing ever darker and the love of many turning to ice.

And just as the land is sick, the church is in an atrocious condition. Many fellowships are a lifeless form while others have invoked another spirit. On saturday afternoon I watched a you tube presentation from a well known church in which they were announcing the opening of a vector up near the stage. In another part of the same presentation, voodoo-like music was being played and folks were being taken into a trance. An imitation has moved in on the undiscerning and is fostering chaos. earlier this week I learned how entities will key in on certain sounds and how a particular style of music can open portals that shouldn’t be opened. This information didn’t really surprise me. Many times in the past, I’ve listened to music that passed as being “christian and something seemed wrong. The lyrics could be fine, however something  in the structure “just wouldn’t sit well”

Benjamin Baruch said something else that really struck me. It involved a church that he visited a few years ago. Some new saints that he knew were visiting and he went along to watch over them. As he was seated, there were two ladies, sitting next to him, who introduced themselves as “mormon witches.” This was strange, but the real trouble began during the worship time as folks were gathering around the altar. The music was playing and he watched as these two ladies went down. They split up and positioned themselves at each end of the platform. They then put their arms out and began to spin around. They were channeling entities into the place, and yet nobody noticed. (Hebrews 5:14 comes to mind) We are in a time of maximum confusion and famine for the word of God. A real tragedy is playing out as many fellowships have rejected the authentic power of God that can save, heal, and deliver, in exchange for a counterfeit that gives them a fuzzy feeling without sheding light on their sin.

Matthew 7:15-17 “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.”

John 16:8 ” And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.”

I John 4:1 “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”

This is a side note on a post that has already strayed from what I had intended, however, a few years ago, I was looking fervently for a church home. I visited one place in Sturgis which had an unusual aspect to it. During the worship service, they dimmed the lights really low. And while they sung some really good songs, there were certain instrumental sounds that were seemingly out of place. Everything else appeared to be in place; other than the bible that they were using. (I honestly don’t know what version it was.) I visited this church on two consecutive weekends and on both occasions, the preaching was solid. I still wonder if something was wrong or if my imagination was being overly active. I really strive to be careful in commenting on such things as I “do not” want to mis-identify. Below is a link to the interview with Benjamin Baruch. I must listen again as the situation at home was chaotic and I only heard portions.

BENJAMIN BARUCH with SHANNON DAVIS (Omegaman broadcast January 22, 12011)

One more thing that must be mentioned, and this ties in with the admonition in the title of this post. Benjamin made note of the coming worldwide persecution of the church as the economic situation deteriorates. This is not a “run-of-the-mill economic downturn. It has been orchestrated by folks in high places who desire a global government and they hate anything that reminds them of the God who inhabits eternity. We must have our affections firmly upon  Jesus and the age to come if were to stand in the hour of temptation. We must be filled with the Holy Spirit at all times, be ready at the drop of a hat to share the good news of salvation and ready to respond to the faintest prompting from the Lord. In all honesty, we should be able to go through the most trying time in the history of the world without the peace of God ever departing. If fear begins to take hold of us, it’s time to pray.

Well I have to go for now. My prayer is that we would all seek the Lord through prayer and fasting with a fervency demanded of this hour. That we would examine ourselves; asking the Holy Spirit to alert us to any problem areas in our life. And that we would love not our lives in this world as any attachment to this present realm can spell disaster. May we look forward to the day when this corruption puts on incorruption, and this mortality puts on immortality.

Daniel 12:3 “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.”

FISTFUL OF……..GEO’S?

Habakkuk 2:2 “And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.”

I Thessalonians 5:4 “But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.”

They will have to call it something and this would fit the billing. I’m referring to the global currency that’s going to be rolled out following the engineered collapse of the euro and the dollar. As recently as two years ago, we heard discussions about a planned common currency for North America called the “amero.” However, if the following information is accurate, the amero will be bypassed as the engineers of global government initiate the final phase of their plan for ultimate power. Before proceeding further, it’s necessary to link to a Friday, Jan 14 broadcast of Tru News.  This was sent to me from a saint in another venue on the evening of January 15. I listened to this information during the overnight hours and quickly recognized the significance of this. Here’s the link:

TRU NEWS BROADCAST FRIDAY JAN, 14, 2011

This broadcast involves information from three independant sources concerning the demise of the Euro, the demise of the U.S. dollar, and the formation of a new global currency in the wake of the ensuing chaos. The probable window for this is between March of 2011 and July of 2011. (Time will tell) This has been in the works for years and is now standing in the gate. The demise of these two major curremcies and the expected 50% to 70% devaluation of the dollar will obliterate the middle class and usher in circumstances that most of us cannot even fathom. (even if we strive to be watching) While the eite and orchestrators of this catastrophe are secured in their underground bunkers, the masses will be left to fend for themselves in a landscape where every facet of modern society has been interrupted.

It was emphasized that the euro will collapse first; followed quickly by the dollar. It’s also worth noting, that a notable member of the Obama administration has been travelling to various foreign capitals for eighteen months for the purpose of bringing about this global currency.

The subsequent hours, (after listening to the broadcast) were every bit as interesting as the broadcast itself. Unable to sleep, (imagine that) I got out of bed and went to the kitchen. The kitchen window sits over the sink and faces south; allowing for a panoramic view of the landscape. Across the road is a large field which is bordered by wooded land. (with millions of deer) On semi-cloudy nights, the lights from Elkhart Indiana illuminate the extreme southwestern sky. (Elkhart is about 25 miles from here) The house was completely silent; except for the ticking of a clock that hands above the window. This seemingly common space has become a type of altar as I come here often to pray when significant issues are on my heart. The total collapse of everything familiar is a very significant event.

The following morning, we attended our local church as normal, however, there was a coinciding element of  surrealism. The worship time was awesome and the preaching was “very timely.” It was a thorough message that identified things which hinder our prayer life and it was most timely. Anything that’s hindering our fellowship with Jesus must be dealt with expediantly. All the while, however, the information that I had listened to during the overnight hours remained forefront in my mind. Casual observations will oftentimes not paint an accurate picture of all that’s in play, however, I wondered if anyone else gives thought to such things. All of us, to one degree or another, place undue confidence in a “continuance” of the status quo. A continuance that is not backed up by scripture, and is certain to give way at the appointed time. (Proverbs 27:1, Isaiah 31:1-3)

I began to ask the Lord that, if this information is accurate, to please reveal it to Pastor Miller along with two or three others in the congregation. This is a request that I’m continuing to bring forth as clarity is a must in these times. The thought that a calamity of this magnitude could catch any of these saints off guard is horrifying. We know the danger; that in the overall picture, many will be caught off guard. I Thessalonians 5:3 reminds us that “For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not excape.” It goes without saying that a 70% devaluation of the dollar overnight would foster sudden destruction on a number of fronts. I was surprised when I left work Monday evening and discovered that, while I was machining gears, the price of gas had jumped 10 cents. Imagine if it had jumped by a margin of three dollars. Two more passages are necessary before clossing.

Proverbs 14:15 “The simple believeth every word, but the prudent man looketh well to his going.”

While this shoud always be a practice, it takes on special significance when the discussion turns to “things soon to be unleashed.” There are a plethura of voices offering up their analysis and advice for the rest of us. We must take everything to the Lord in prayer and not blindly cleave to another with flatteries.

Lamentations 2:19 “Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street.”

To stay before the Lord on the behalf of those in our ambience. To keep our children in constant prayer as these events come to fruition. I’m finding myself praying for our younger daughter more than usual as she will be travelling to England for ten days in early April. The climate in that country, with cameras coverning every inch of real estate, along with the controvercial policies of the TSA in this country are causes of great concern. (Especially the TSA…but she really wants to go on this senior class trip) This world has become such a strange place. Not only because my heart is in heavenly places, but also because the darkness is becoming more pronounced by the day.

Well it’s approaching 2:30 am and I really need to go. My prayer is that this post will not cause fear in the hearts of the saints, but rather, that it will foster a desire to draw closer to Jesus. Whenever I hear reports of this nature, they are always followed by a desire to lay aside all of the frivillous matters and seek the Lord with increased fervency. We should also be mindful of Psalm 91 which tells of Gods protection; even in the midst of a darkness that can be felt. The peace of God is independant of physical circumstances. It can only be hindered by us; when we begin to focus on empty threatenings from the theater of atoms.

Blessings always in Jesus name.

RED PILL at MIDNIGHT

Posted in Christianity, Discernment, End Times, Gods Word, Jesus Christ, Salvation, Spiritual warfare, Tribulation Saints on January 13, 2011 by timbob

Luke 21:34-35 “And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
For as a snare it shall come upon all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.”

On Thursday, January 6, 2011, Steve Quayle  was the featured guest on Coast to Coast AM . During the first two hours, an array of information was presented. Genetic manipultion, weather warfare, Genesis 6 giants, extraterrestrials (fallen entities) global government, and other issues that tie in with bible prophecy. And while it was a very informative broadcast, the most eye-opening moment (at least for me) came when host George Noory began to take phone calls. The first caller made a statement to the effect of “I’ve been listening for two hours and you never follow through on any one issue. YOU’RE ALL OVER THE PLACE.” Steve replied to this observation; explaining that there is so much happening in the realm of scriptural fulfilment that, in an effort to get as much information out as possible, it was necessary to touch on many topics in a somewhat rapid-fire format.

Initialy, the remarks from the opening caller were puzzling.  I know what “all over the map” sounds like and Steve definately was not. (Susequent callers seemed to understand what was being discussed) Then it dawned on me. The information presented that night was, as it were, the latest updates concerning the strange goings on that are taking place in our time. To one who sees the bigger picture, (even vaguely) the information was helpful indeed. But to one who embraces the default worldview presented by the media every day, a sudden exposure to information of this magintude, on an array of topics, could potentially leave their head spinning. For one to be “going with the flow” of life and then suddenly learn about the devices that are in motion, the entire foundation of their reality will be shattered.

The exchange in the wee hours of that morning highlighted a much larger, and far more serrious situation. It would appear that most of our contemporaries are hopelessly glued to the matrix. (The word “appear” is pivotal. The Lord can open the eyes of any) They check the weather forcast each morning, they dutifully perform the requirements of life, they make their mark in the ambience. They anticipate the seasons of a lifetime and plan according. Yet sadly, they are oblivious to telltale indicators that everything familiar is being compromised. Day by incremental day, year after seemingly uneventful year, the test of time seems to substantiate their faith in the temporal. All the while, the events foretold of in scripture are being made manifest. The wickedness of man is reaching a cresendo and a beast system is installed. (They’re just working out the bugs) As some point in the future, the facade that has remained since before the days of our great grandparents will give way; exposing a reality that most are not prepared for.

Luke 21:26 “Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and looking after those things which are coming upon the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.”

It’s imperative for every saint to fervently seek the Lord for direction as this unfolds. We know that he can sustain us in any climate, however, to be in his providence is a must. When this collapse reaches a state of unanimous undeniability, those contemporaries who didn’t see it coming will “lose it.” For the saints, it will not be a fearful time; so long as we have our eyes on Jesus and understand what’s playing out. In fact, it will be a time in which our light will shine the brightest, resulting in souls being drawn to Jesus. But if we’re caught up with the continuing stories and agendas of this present world, we’ll be caught off guard. And as was touched on so often on the old blog, (Grace Gounty) this is why the pre-tribulation rapture teaching is so dangerous. It causes saints to not prepare spiritually for the times that are upon us. (Why would one prepare for something that they don’t expect to face?)

On a recent broadcast, Nathan Leal  discussed the ongoing situation with the recent bird kills, fish kills, etc, along with other aspects of the earth “groaning and travailing.” (Hosea 4:3.) He also touched on some indicators of the wickedness that is residing in the hearts of men and how this will increase as the end approaches. He touched on the recent tragedy in Tuscon Arizona, (the broadcast was on Jan 11. 2011) where several people were shot, including congresslady Gabrielle Giffords. Six souls went into eternity. One of these who was taken from us was nine year old Christina Taylor. (She was born on Sept. 11, 2001) Prayer should be offered up for the families of all of these victims. I’ve also been keeping Gabrielle Giffords in prayer; thanking God that she is still with us. Events such as this are taking place with increased frequency and it seems as though hell is coming to the surface. Here’s a link to where the broadcast can be found:

http://soundwaves2000.com/survive2thrive/ Look for the Jan 11, 2011 broadcast. Also at this site is a conversation between Steve Quayle and Pastor David Langford. (I hope that’s spelled right) The topic is the rapture teaching which has become so dominant in many venues. (This was on Jan. 7)

So what do we do? The answer is the same as it has always been. Get close to Jesus, stay in his word, let go of every weight that hinders, and set our affections firmly upon things above. Reach out to our contemporaries who know not the Lord Jesus and are not ready to depart. If our affections are set in heavenly places, the considerations in this post should cause us to, all the more, draw close to the Lord. Not panic or seek an theological avenue for denial, but seek the Lord Jesus. His word is going to come to pass on his terms, not ours. We must line up with truth; asking the Holy Spirit to grant understanding, if we are to stand in the hour of darkness. The single intention behind this post is to encourage everyone who holds the testimony of Jesus to draw close to him. There is a supernatural solace in his presence that will withstand any storm.

Anyone who remembers the movie “The matrix” will understand the somewhat obscure title of this post. Everyone arrives at a point when the illusion is stripped away and only reality remains. sadly multitudes have gone into eternity before this happened and multitudes are in danger of this. (As the old saying goes, “Don’t be caught dead without Jesus.”) And while it’s true on an eternal front, it’s also true in the natural, where everything familiar is slipping away. at some point, the entire superstructure will give way to a brave new (unbfathomably evil) world system. Last night while working, I was reminded to thank God for every day that remains. Every day that passes without calamity is a day wherein names will be added to the book of life. While we may discuss the times ahead, none of us desire the woeful day. (Jeremiah 17:16)

Well I need to be going for now. I’ll leave with a lighter note. Yesterday while doing searching for information, I came across the following link. It’s for a product that’s no longer available, however, it falls in line with what we may well see in the future. It’s the angry mob playset and it features series of villagers holding pitchforks, torches, and what have you. (One lady has a rolling pin) It seems almost out of place on a post of a serious nature, however, it does contain an element of “things to watch out for.” Again, Most of the people in this country have never witnessed a complete collapse of the system and that is exactly what is being orchestrated.

Isaiah 55:6-8 “Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near.
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.”

Blessings always in Jesus name.

THE GOD of ALL COMFORT

Posted in Christianity, Discernment, End Times, Gods Word, Jesus Christ, Spiritual warfare, Tribulation Saints, Uncategorized on January 7, 2011 by timbob

This is primarily an admonition concerning something that we all embrace as being a scriptural truth, but don’t always walk in. It’s easy to become overwhelmed by the flurry of obligations and battles that we face; both in the spiritual realm and the natural. As the world continues on the path toward scriptural fulfillment, we know that stress and tribulation will continue to mount; especially in the lives of the saints. The enemy is relantless in his quest to either derail our faith through deceptions, or neutralize us through a myriad of distractions. The battle rages; hour after hour, and week after week. Our adversary never takes a day off and never gets distracted from his objective of devouring the eternal ones.

Revelation 12:12 “Therefore rejoice ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabitors of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.”

The words “short time” speak volumes. This is a temporal setting and the trial of our faith is but for a season. regardless of what we are facing at any given moment, we can be certain that, a hundred years from now it will have run its course and all of the players will be in their eternal abode. (II Corinthians 4:18 comes to mind)

Lest we buckle beneath the cresendo of assaults, or allow the distractions of this world to pry us away from our first love, it’s imperative to abide in the supernatural rest that God grants to those who love him. Back in December, a myriad of situations brought me face to face with my wits end. It was a “too close for comfort” reminder that I have a lot of growing to do. We need to stay close to Jesus because what we are facing now will intensify as the end approaches. That’s why this post is going to be a revisiting of some familiar passages relating to the peace of God; beginning with one that has become a daily confession in prayer.

Psalm 61:3 “For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.”

Hardly a day goes by when, during prayer, these words come out. “Lord, you are my strong tower. Despite all thats taking place in my ambience, you are my confidence.” Every time I would (and still do) consider this truth, it isn’t long before the peace of God returns, clarity is granted concerning the eternal picture, and intercession is being offered up for for the contemporaries. Oftentimes; when chaos seems to be carrying the day and the devices of the wicked are bearing fruit, the best thing to do is to bring it all to Jesus. When this is done, in faith and sincere desire for understanding, The Lord answers every time. We can enter a time of prayer feeling as though all is lost, and be revived in a moment.

The writer of Psalm 73 was incredibly discouraged. He had been witnessing the prosperity of the wicked, who consistantly perform their desires and even speak out against God. “Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world, and increase  in riches.” he wrote. All the while he was plagued from every side and chastened every morning. His life was chaotic and from a natural vantage point, it seemed to be a great injustice. The pondering must have been overwhelming “When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me”

Psalm 73:17-19 “Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.
Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down to destruction.
How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed by terrors.”

A few momments before the LORD and suddenly, he was granted, as it were, a panoramic view of the contestings. He began to see what God sees and in verse 22, he confessed “So foolish was I, and ignorant. I was as a beast before thee.”

Psalm 73:23-24 “Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.
Thou shalt guide me with counsel, and afterward receiveme to glory.”

This stands along side all of the well known comfort passeges. And while this has been true for every generation, it takes on special significance in our time. We know from Daniel 7:21 that the son of perdition is going to “make war with the saints and prevail against them.” This is going to be unlike the tribulations faced by any other generation (Matthew 24:21,) however,  if we’re abiding in Christ; making him our strong tower, he will sustain us until our testimony is completed. If we are battling fear (all of us wrestle with this to one degree or another) it should prompt us to draw in closer to Jesus. He knows our situation from every angle. He knows the designs of the enemy, he knows where we struggle, and he knows the work that he’s doing in our life. The trial of our faith works patience and results in treasure that will never fade away. Long after Satan and all of his minions have been cast into everlasting darkness, we’ll be shining as the firmament.

Isaiah 26:3 “thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

II Corinthians 1:3-4 “Blessed be God, even the father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

Time doesn’t permit me to refer to the passages that i had actually planned on using for this, but the message is the same. We have a faithful Creator and high priest in Jesus, who ever lives to make intercession for us. Regardless of anytning that we may encounter and regardless of any attacks aimed in  our direction, Jesus has promised to be with us always. Even if we end up in a FEMA camp for refusing to partake of a manditory vaccination program wherein a pencil-point sized chip is injected into every recipient. (Steve Quayle discussed this on Coast to Coast last night.) Without as doubt, we are in strange times.

I need to be going, however, one aspect is in need of mentioning. Over the past few months, a particular attribute has been popping up during prayer time. It’s the word “sovereign” and it involves the truth that God inhabits eternity. He created all that is, and he is unchanging. He is completely righteous in every way and sees our thought sfar off. The sovereignty of God has been a point of cogitation and much comfort. To know that, when I enter a time of prayer, I’m in the presence of the Almighty and that he loves us more than we can fathom. (I John 3:16)

Blessings always in Jesus name.

PRIORITIES, PETITIONS and the PULLING DOWN OF STRONGHOLDS

Posted in Christianity, Discernment, End Times, Gods Word, Jesus Christ, Salvation, Spiritual warfare on January 2, 2011 by timbob

“Redeeming the time because the days are evil.” These words are found in Ephesians 5:15 and they define the approach that we should take concerning our allotment of days in this world. Our love for Jesus, the level of our appreciation for this great salvation, and our understanding of the situation before us will determine how we respond to this admonition. Our choices in life, our words, and the campaigns that we place emphasis on will reveal whether  we operate from an eternal perspective or we are obsessed with our status in this present world. Most of us who claim to be in Christ would tell ourselves that we are “in the world but not of the world” and yet few of us live this out in it full. It brings up a question that we each must ask ourselves and ask the Lord to open our eyes concerning. “Have we truly forsaken all to follow Jesus?”

Proverbs 4:23 “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

This isn’t a one time thing; it’s an examination that we must continually engage in. This becomes all the more imperative as the countdown toward the end of days is underway. A two-fold countdown; both in the prophetic and in the natural. From a prophetic angle, we can see a beast system rising before our eyes and we know that soon a son of pedition will make his official debut. From a natural angle, none of us have a promise that we are going to awaken in the morning. Ecclesiastes 8: reminds us that “No man hath power over the spirit, to retain the spirit.” Despite our noblest efforts to secure longevity in this world, every hour that finds us breathing has the potential of being our last.

The year of 2011 is largely a mystery at this point. I know of many areas in which I have to take it to a higher level, however two stand out as being primary. First, ventures into the streets, or into any arena for that matter, must be entered into with an increased seriousness and understanding of the forces that are in play. The arena of street ministry is one that I thrive in. If it were possible to quit the hourly job and spend that time in the streets, I would do it in a moment. But while I’m at home in this venue; even in the troubled neighborhoods, the element of spiritual warfare must be addressed more directly. The enemy never sleeps and he doesn’t like the prospect of losing prisoners. When a person is under the influence of something (alcohol, drugs, entities,) and held captive, they need a supernatural deliverance. When a person is believing a lie to the point that they will consciously seek to reinforce the error instead of earnistly seeking the truth, they are in need of having their eyes opened. Only the Lord can perform such a thing.

The second area is that of fervent intercessory prayer for others. The lists are incredible. saints in my ambience, saints with whom I have contact via the blogosphere, those who abide under this roof, extended family members, co-workers, people who don’t even know I exist but I’m minded to keep them in prayer, and what hacve you. This would seem to be the easier of the two, however, I think that it’s even harder. The enemy really fights to keep us from coming before the throne of grace and offering a sweet savor.(Revelation 5:8) He especially doesn’t like it when we petition on the behalf of those under his control. Late one night, it was on my heart to pray for a wiccan girl who used to work at the plant. (This has been long-time project) Suddenly pains developed in my chest; kind of what a heart attack may feel like. It was so severe that I considered waking Kimberly and heading to the ER. Minutes later it subsided, but I knew what was going on.

This same person has been hard to pray for in the past as well. The enemy is determined to derail any such endeavors; wherein prayer is offered up that can bring down strongholds. We can be anywhere; driving own the highway, machining gears at work, performing tasks around the house, and simultaneously engage in spiritual warfare, (or combat prayer) for the captives. (Albeit quiet uninterrupted time is preferred) I’m minded to spend every possible moment in this fashion. We know that it’s effective; not only because we are admonished in scripture to “pray without ceasing” (I Thessalonians 5:17) but because the enemy goes to any length to keep us from fellowshipping with the Lord. He’ll do anything possible to hinder us; from stuffing our calendar with obligations in the physical world, to luring us into harboring contrary attitudes which hinder our prayers. Anything to disrupt the lines of communication. Anything to cause us to focus on the temporal elements and dramas instead of allowing the Holy Spirit to reveal the bigger picture to us.

This post is running long, but one example comes to mind. In the past, there has been contention in this household on a variety of fronts. There were times when I could have reacted to circumstances in a very destructive way and convinced myself that I was justified in taking that course of action. In such moments, I would cry out “Lord I have to see this from your perspective because ‘m wanting to fly off the handle.” Every time this prayer went forth in sincerety, he would open my eyes and allow a glimpse at what was really going on. Suddenly I no longer saw the actions of another driving me nutty; I saw a priceless soul in need. It would be like seeing the enemies playbook and realizing that I had come incredibly close to taking the bait. Today, things in this household are stablized because of the tender mercies of a faithful Creator who answers prayer and, if were atuned, lets us know when we are about to react in a destructive fashion.

When we view things from an eternal perspective, all of the sideshow issues lose their standing. There are lives that are in turmoil as the enemy seeks to devour the priceless eternal ones. For their sake (and ours) we cannot get caught up in the drama. We have to divorce the appearances on the surface and understand what’s really taking place. In every campaign;there is a common singularity. The devil is seeking to run out the clock on his captives and he’ll employ any distraction at his disposal to keep them occupied. One of the most bizarre things that I’ve ever seen transpired last spring when my sister was in a Hospice facility. There was a room that I would pass whenever I visited. In this room was a guy who spent his days watching CNBC. It was so strange to see someone who was in their final moments glued to a continuing story that was soon to have no significance.

WHEN WE LEAVE THIS WORLD, THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS IS WHETHER OR NOT OUR NAME APPEARS IN THE BOOK OF LIFE.

Well I have to go as it’s now approaching 4:00 am. My prayer is that we would be about the issues that really matter. That we would ferently seek the Lord and be obediant to that which he places on our heart. That we would have our sences exercised to discern both good and evil as we strive to be a city set upon a hill in a land where confusion has become normal.
